I have 2 very tiny teacup size dogs that are under 6lbs(Star and Mojo) and one poodle mixed rescue dog that is about 15lbs.(Benny) Benny is a source of constant grief for the family. He is very unruly despite my best training ( has worked for all other dogs) He does very stupid things ( for instance he jumped on my mother asleep on the couch and crapped on her) I have also had him neutered - he is less than a year old so I thought this would have at least settled him down a LITTLE....nothing seems to be working. The trouble is - the bigger he gets the more rough he plays and he now hurts the other 2 while "playing". They try to NOT play but he persues and pesters and bites and paws at them till they give chase or play or SOMETHING - then he hurts them accidentally. I have tried even keeping him on a leash next to me all day long for weeks at a time - as soon as he is off the leash he is up to his same ole tricks! I am really at my witts end with him! What am I supposed to do , banish him to a separate area of the house? Chain him up? .....launch him on a rocket to the moon?
Benny is 10 months old. Star is 1 and a half, Mojo is a mere 10 weeks. Benny has been hurting Star mostly - he sometimes bites her back bone so hard she has fallen over unable to move for a moment and crying out in pain!
He is crate trained. He does tricks, chases a ball , is a good guard so far...all that , but he is just a JERK. Rough and Tumble and does the most outrageous things! My sister is a trainer for petsmart - she is even at a loss fr what to do about him! He is NOT starved for attention he goes places with us and with 4 kids around he always has some pettin ....Maybe I need the dog whisperer??
His latest antics - he chewed through the box of starter logs for the fire place and ate one. Then later I caught him shewing the top off the windex , as I was cleaning. I guess looking to wach it down....uugh IS he CRAZY? Is it possible to have a crazy dog???
Maybe the bigger dog is jelous of the new little dogs? Are you giving the new puppies more attention then the bigger one?
We just got a new maltese puppy a few weeks ago, Louie is 13 weeks old and is a spaz- but anyways I noticed that Daisy and Bentley are alittle jelous and seem that Daisy (she just turned 1 on saturday and is the middle dog) is really wanting more attention and when she sees me playing with Louie she is right there with her nose in everything. If Louie crys out for some reason shes right there, Bentley is still stand offish with Louie ( bentley is 1.7 months old and the oldest) and when he does try and play with Louie, Daisy is right there chasing him off. And now their big thing is that Louie and Daisy will gang up on Bentley- just playing of coarse but still Bentley and Daisy were best buddies and now seems Daisy and Louie are buddies and Bentley is left out , So im trying to give Bentley more attention , So its harder adding a new puppy to the mix- seems dogs are set in their ways and you bring a new pup in and everything is all mixed up for them- There trying to figure out their pecking order. Daisy is the boss between them well with her and Bentley but now Louie as little as he is has been trying to be the domiant one. So this could be trouble when he gets bigger
