Neutering/spaying a pet is a violation of Jewish law. But owning a pet that ways already altered by a shelter or previous owner is not a problem. I don't know if other religions have similar mandates? But I doubt anyone on here counts that as a reason.
Pinkygirl that was a ridiculous thing to say. The posters that did not neuter that pets had good reasons why they did not do it. None of them are irresponsible or lazy. I certainly didn't see any of them aspiring to be BYBs.
someone always has to say something uncalled for. This is a topic that is very real and should not be taken lightly. Even if your are a breeder or just a pet owner. there are health issues both ways that needs to be looked at. Even before I altered a dog I make sure to look at the pros and cons of it first, being that I have so many to watch over. I feel that it is the best interest of the dog to get altered even after their show or breeding time is done. Because health and welfare will be the best for all of our animals.
