I've never had any problems with any of my dogs until recently. And I believe since we've had all of the monsoon rains in Az this is where the problem is coming from but not sure. Its usually too cold where I live for them.
My papillion has been scratching at her ears (to the point they bleed) and we have pulled several what looks like ticks from her ear. We don't know where she is getting them. My other dog does not have them. Could they be coming from the grass? She plows through the weeds with her head (ears) and my other dog doesn't. They only seem to be on her ears and no where else. Which I find odd in itself. We bought some treatment oil for her but would like to get some ideas of where she is getting these from. And both of my dogs go almost everywhere except my other dog doesn't plow through the grass.
We have taken her to the vet and they just tell us to put the treatment on her. And she still has them.
ps... I am aware of the signs of lyme disease. and she is upto date on all shots.
I don't know about where you live , but where I'm from that's where you get the ticks, is in the long grass and in the bush. You will need to keep her out of it, or use a repellant, but it's a bit strange that they're on her ears only. They should be all over her, if they're ticks. Are you sure they're ticks?
