no rumor... they have not released it yet and are protecting themselves from mass media at this point saying "there has been no final decision" Watch Dan... he gets all the inside stuff.... Also, what's most interesting is they even had falcon players speaking and quoted as they dont even want him back. Trial starts November anyway, he's not going to be playing and with 2 co defendents turning on him, the dude is in serious trouble..NFL is under a huge amount of pressure right now(GOOD) and should be making the announcement soon.
They really need to prosecute him to the full extent of the law. This WAS a well known and well liked member of the sports community. My husband even had ( notice i said HAD ) two of his jerseys. Others that are fighting dogs, or considering doing it, need to see what can and will happen to the ones partaking in this kind of activity. If he gets off with a slap on the wrist, its like telling all the ones that are involved in dogfighting,or thinking about becoming involved, that its okay to do it, because nothing will happen to them if they get caught.
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
I am a mother of two and a sheltie owner as well. I also do foster care for a local shelter and am sickened by what he did I feel he should be kicked out of all professional sports. I know he only plays football but I would hate to see him play a michael jordan and go to another sport. As a parent I don't want my kids looking up to someone who could do something so terrible and as a animal lover I feel he should be made an example of as he is so popular.
Anybody with any common sense (and compassion) thinks he should go to jail. But let's face it-whether or not he goes to jail, it really depends on how his contract was written up as to what the NFL can do. If he's suspended-is it suspended with or without pay? If he's suspended with pay, that's not really much of a punishment, is it? Maybe the team can release him-maybe not. Again, he signed a legally binding contract with the NFL, and who knows what kind of clauses are in that contract? It will be interesting to see what happens. Everybody has their opinions, but no one really knows for sure-not even the attorneys, at this point.
Even if he were to go to jail, he would indeed get special treatment thourghout his time served. The only way to really hurt this heartless mental case is to let his bank accounts plummet. I wish animals were equal to children in the legal system. It would cut back on a whole lotta meaningless suffering.
