We use a puppy shampoo for our Morkie (no bashing please). But is there something else we can do to make him smell better. He smells pretty good after the bath but when I got him she was using something that really made him smell good but it wasn't something I could just go by, not sure what it was. Is there a powder or spray or something to use after a bath?
Mommy to Thelma and Louise (beagle mixes), Larry, Sam, Rescue (cats), Logan (hamster) and Charlie (Morkie). I love all my furbabies!
TN I'm not going to bash but please tell me what a morki is? Most people do not know what the designer names are. When you support rescue and not mixed breeding those names are like Greek. Each breed of dog is different with the oils they excrete in their coats.
I use a few things but found that the top performance shampoo last for weeks. I have Sibs. is that anything like a morki? I don't know but it sure works on the huskies.
Maybe she was just using a doggie cologne on him. I always use cologne on mine. The little yorkie we just got is 9wks. old. I will use Johnson's baby shampoo on her and a good condtioner. Maybe even condtioner would help. Don't know anything about the Maltese. Yorkie's can dull and get dry. I will use a different shampoo on her as she grows. Good luck.
Unless a dog has rolled in a pile of crap or a mud puddle of on top of something dead, I don't like to bathe a dog. If they're being feed a good diet they shouldn't need a bath. If your dog is white, I know they have a tendency t get a little gray. I still wouldn't bathe more than once a month. Too many soaps can upset the natural PH of the skin and then dogs can experience skin problems such as drying.
My two dogs are 5yrs old. One will wade in the pool one in awhile, the other has never had a bath.If they get dirty, a good brushing takes care of the problem. Both of them have no odor at all.
