I was just wanting some info on cat allergies, so thought id ask here. I think I may be allergicto cats, well actually im pretty sure. My mom has 4 cats that she keeps indoors, and everytime I go to her house my allergies act up. I get itchy throught, itchy eyes and sneezes and coughs. My dad has 4 cats at his house also, but they stay outside. I am fine when I am at his house. unless I go outside and they sit on my lap, ill start getting a itchy throught and stuff. We have always had cats, so why is it only starting to bother me now? also theres this one cat at my dads that has long hair and is real fluffy like a persian, when I am around him my allergies hardly bother me at all. all the other cats have short hair. And when im around some of the cats ill notice my skin getting itchy to. why do some cats bother me and some not so bad? I always thought long haired cats would make your allergies worse then a short hair?

Allergies can occur in every time in our lives, unfortunately. Probably your father has a siberian cat (long-haired). They are belived not to cause allergies.
