Hate it when people are allowed to reduce their sentences (possibly) by entering in plea deals.
If he pleads guilty his sentence would be reduced to just over a year served in jail. I think an eye for an eye. Let one of those dogs rip into him and see how he likes it....or wait, lets hang him and drown him like he did when he "executed" the dogs that "did not fight well".
I just heard that on the World News report. I can not believe it. That sentence does not fit the crime. They still might have more info to admend the charges. If they could get the racketeering charge to stick he would be given more time. I personally think Life is Prison is too light of sentence. I like your idea of drowning him, very very slowly.
He's your friend, your partner, your defender your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours faithful and true to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to worthy of such devotion
I only heard the tail end of a report on the news today, but it mentioned that the Falcons will try to get back some of the bonus money he was paid, which could amount to more than 80 million.
Also, the IRS is looking into all his financial records. So although he may not get enough jail time for the cruelty to animals, he might get slammed because of the gambling, which is better than nothing.
No matter what happens, his career will probably be over. If not for the actual crime, then because of the public relations disaster he would be for any team who would sign him.
we were talking about this whole ordeal in my shop yesterday and there was one guy that was like.... "who cares they are just dogs!" i was getting so aggrivated... i think on the extreme end though... i think they should be murder charges.... but man i was mad they will let any dumb a** in the millitary!!!!!! they should screen us better... lol
I've seen a look in dogs' eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically dogs think humans are nuts." - John Steinbeck
Announced last night on all the news channels. He is pleading guilty. The DA is not sending this to federal as he is now pleading. DA is recommending 12-18 months jail time however the judge has the right to sentence more. Very doubtful he will play again, and certainly not for the next 2 years. His plea will be this Monday I think they said.
He gets a year, and all those precious animals paid with their lives. I'm sure none of them made it out alive, even the ones seized. Perhaps he should pay with his life as well. Life in prison would be the punishment I think he deserves. But that'll never happen.
Hope the IRS takes everything he's got. He can go live in a box on the street somewhere after he gets out.
Hopefully the IRS & legal system can hit him were it hurts!!! I feel like I've signed every petition available against this guy...as far as the whole "who cares" attitude; I have been guilting the local community up with anyone with any compassion for animals what-so-ever! Sorry rant over.
Ya, it would be nice if they locked him up forever. That won't happen though. :( At least it's something. It's a shame that the dogs were forced to give up their lives for his dumb actions. They would have to be euthanized though or else it would just cause more problems; more attacks, more bad reps. Reading through all the news articles show that there are still fans of him and they think he has it rough now. Of course we are all glad that he has it "rough". What really angers me was on one article I read (it wasn't a recent one; I just did a google search and looked at the news part about 2 weeks ago maybe)had comments so I was looking through those and found that one of the comments said something like "Any man who is helping destroy the population of pit bulls is someone we support." and then said something about how then they want rotties and dobies gone too. That really ticked me off. I was going to post it but the internet wasn't cooperating. =/ I think I might look for it if anyone would like to comment back on it.

For what it's worth I think every single cent from Michael Vick's bank account should go to housing and looking after the dogs found on his property, no matter if they were trained to fight. An animal behaviourist could help some of them, and why should they die because of him and his disgusting friends? So it takes years of expensive care to keep them alive. I think they deserve to live, he's the one who deserves the punishment. They all need some care and kindness, something I'm sure they have never experienced thus far.
While the prosecutor on the case is recommending a sentence of 12-18 months, the judge is under no obligation to keep to that sentencing guideline. He can sentence Vick to a longer sentence, up to and including the maximum of 5 years, or for less time.
Unfortunately for Mr. Vick, the particular judge that is presiding over these cases has a reputation for going over the normal sentencing guidelines, so Vick is liable to be sentenced for a longer period the 12-18 months. I've also heard that this judge is very very good at seeing through insincere pleas, and that if Vick goes before this judge and is anything but completely remorseful and repentant, and he shows the smart aleck attitude and smirk that he's been displaying in the interviews/photos I've seen, Judge Henry Hudson is going to be on him, if you will excuse the phrasing, like a pack of dogs on a 3-legged cat.
Add to this that the judge here seems to find the details of this case particularly offensive (like most normal people do) and has told the other 2 guys who pled out last week (Peace and Phillips) that they need to expect an 'upward departure' from the sentencing guidelines. As Vick was the last of the 4 to plea out, and he only did so because of the mountain of evidence, oh and like 7 govt witnesses willing to testify against him, I would expect and hope that of the 4 that went into court on July 17, because he was the last to fold, he will get the lengthiest sentence.
Never trust a tall dwarf... he's lying about something.
