I hate what is going on with Vick and I think he should get the harshest sentence possible. But it makes me happy to see animal lovers everywhere voicing an opinion about it. Especially those who don't own pitbulls, that will stand up and get involved in this. Pitbulls have become Enemy number 1, when once they were an American Hero.(and still are to me) Dog fighting is notorious in my state. (North Carolina) And I don't feel like the authorities are doing enough or even care enough to do anything about it. This is now being brought to everyone's attention so it will have to be addressed, right? Maybe more people will start cracking down. Maybe next time people won't just turn their heads. Maybe this will cause more people to be more weary. Hopefully this will make more people think twice. And if someone suspects dog fighting then maybe they will take that extra step to get the police involved. I feel like Anyone who can sit around, laugh, and enjoy themselves while two dogs are ripping each other apart doesn't need to be free on the streets.
Like I said in an earlier post, I think living under a bridge would be too good for him. I hope and pray he NEVER gets to play proball again. Remorse????The only remorse this scum has is he got caught. Something was mentioned about him working off some time working with the SPCA. You have to have a heart to be touched and this for lack of a better word, man, has no heart. Wouldn't you hate for the likes of him to father your children? If he would do what he did to animals, wonder what he would do to a wife or child? Here's hopeing you get all your deserve and more Mr. Vick.
I heard this morning on the news that the Falcons are/have released him and are talking of ways to recoup the sign on bonus (which was in the millions) that they gave Vick. I hope he never plays ball again, @$$hole!!!
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me hapy when skies are grey. You'll never know dear, how much I love you..please don't take my sunshine away!
have you guys heard that he said that this situation has made him see the light and he's now "given himself to the lord?" i heard it on the radio. karma is a bitch. i want him to lose everything...and suffer the way those poor animals did.
Indifference turns clarity into denial. ~Quan Tracy Cherry
i don't know the truth of this but a girl that i work with said she heard vick on the radio talking about how he was truely sorry and symathetic and stuff then the interviewer asked him if he would ever dog fight again... and he said it depended..... i would hope he wouldn't be that stupid to say that on the radio... did anyone else hear this?
I've seen a look in dogs' eyes, a quickly vanishing look of amazed contempt, and I am convinced that basically dogs think humans are nuts." - John Steinbeck
" have you guys heard that he said that this situation has made him see the light and he's now "given himself to the lord? "
Yes , i heard him say that. I would truly like to believe that to be true, but too many people get the "jailhouse religion" during incarceration. I think that now that he knows that he is going to jail, he is just getting a headstart on it. Its funny how so many forget to take their bibles with them when they are released from prison.
An update on the creep: ( and no, i am not buying his sudden salvation )
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - The eBay auction for 22 Michael Vick football cards, chewed up and slobbered on by two Missouri dogs, ended Wednesday as the winning bidder dished out $7,400 - with the money expected to be donated to the Humane Society.
The success of that auction, with 31 different bidders, created a craze of 25 other postings this week offering torn up cards featuring the disgraced NFL superstar. But so far, the original post from Rochelle Steffen, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., has been the only auction to attract droves of bidders.
Steffen gave Monte, her 6-year-old Weimaraner, and Roxie, her Great Dane puppy, every Vick card she owned to destroy. The result: The cards worth $1-to-$10 were crumpled, crimped, chewed, torn and generally in a sorry state. Some even had corners missing.
"When I started this, I only expected to get $100 for a local shelter," Steffen told The Associated Press on Wednesday. "But it's received so much attention. It's for such a good cause."
The gnawed cards were the most expensive Vick items on eBay, with well-preserved rookie cards, autographed jerseys and other collectibles selling for far less.
Vick pleaded guilty to a federal dogfighting charge this week. He will be sentenced Dec. 10.
