Kayla has been eating really good and I had put them on Innovia because Tina and Mandy just do not like Welliness. Some of Innovia's canned food is low protein which Mandy has to have along with her K/D. It just makes it easier if everyone eats the same thing. I had given Kayla about a tbsp. of puppy food this morning and she was doing fine until they gave her her second series of shots. My vet was in surgery so one of the other vets came in and after they put the meds in her nose and gave her worming med. she threw up. The vet put some cheese on the pill and Kayla immediately threw it up. She seems to be feeling better now, but has not eat hardly anything since we have been home. The vet sent another worming pill home with me to give to her this afternoon but I think I will wait until tomorrow after her little tummy settles. Even though she lost all the other pill I just don't want to take a chance on it making her sick again.
The vet sent me home with the liquid wormer. I was wondering if it hurts to give it to her on an empty stomach. She has not eat anything this morning and I was supposed to have give it to her yesterday afternoon but I wanted to wait until her tummy settled from the pill she gave up. I don't want to make her sick again since she is feeling and doing ok. this morning. Should I try to get her to eat something or is it ok. to go ahead and give it to her? Thanks if anyone knows.
Thanks. She held her supper down last night. In fact, Tina ate some of her puppy food (kibble, Innova) and she started eating because Tina was and they both eat quite a bit. I think it was the cheese that the vet put on that pill to get it down her and she was nervous anyway from going to the vet and it just all came up. I just didn't want to start it all over again and I know for myself I never take meds on an empty stomach. I will make sure she eats something and then give it to her. Thanks again.
