Freddie has been attached to me since she ran and jumped into my lap when I was looking to buy a puppy in the breederís puppy room. She never left my side and would sit behind me at the sink while I washed dishes, if I left the house she would sit by the door until I returned, etc. She still does this. You know itís bad when you canít go to the bathroom by yourself because she follows you in and sits waiting in front of you. If I close the door she scratches it or opens it.
She became attached to everyone in the house and is still especially overjoyed when the grandkids visit.
Are you having a problem?
I would like to know why some dogs in a household are this attached and some aren't.

Well, my dog..Took awhile to get attached to my parents, for me she only took about 4 hours. It depends on, how she reacts to who got her and who she sat nearest too. I hope this works out for you. Thanks. Please let me know soon.
Love all dogs and cats!! Doesn't matter what cat or dog you have or getting, they all are cute, furry, and cuddly. They all like to be loved, they know you love them, thats why the love you forever!!
Our little Augie picked us out while we were at the shelter - so it was immediate, but with Gracie it took awhile for her to warm up to us. The "breeder" had a little girl and I think that she was really missing her. I remember commenting that she never wagged her tail and didn't look happy for about a month after bringing her home. Now, however we can't make a sudden stop or we will have doggy nose in unpleasant places!
Yes I guess i mean bonded more than attachment! No im not having a problem with the attachment, but my dog is very attached to me. Like following me EVERYWHERE in the house, sitting there and waiting for me to go to the washroom and shower... is that a good thing or bad? Why do they do this?
My boy follows me every where! He has to be near me when I am walking! ANd I definetly understand the puppy nose in unpleasant places! my girl she keeps off me but she watches and If i leave the room or she cant see me she'll come looking. I think its fine. When I leave they are ok with just each other and occasional my socks! So as long as they don't have seperation anxiety why worry?
Mine are with me constantly. The only time they are not at my feet or on my heels is when I have gone shopping or somewhere. Ever tried to go the the bathroom with 3 following you? Then, if I try to close the door, one will push it open with their nose.
