Pyrmom, we don't know which commercial yet. We are trying to find out from the owner. (I hope you weren't talking to bad about me, maybe a BYB thread or something. Somethings never change here ;)
Wandering_Spirit, they are toys, not miniatures (toy is the smallest of the three varieties). We do not owner handle anymore because it is way to political in Poodles and especially in Toy Poodles. Owner handlers basically don't stand much of a chance here in the Pacific NW.
What part of the pacific northwest ? I am in the Seattle-Tacoma area. Do you do the AKC shows in july at the puyallup fairgrounds ? I went one year and watched the Pekes. Next year i want to go meet some other French Bulldog owners.
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
Dusty, we are in Longview, about 45 miles N. of Portland. We were in Puyallup a few shows ago, then Enumclaw 2 weekends ago and then Marymoore Park last weekend. Had a poodle specialty on sat. and all-breed on Sun. We go to most of the shows in Oregon /Washington as long as we can get back everyday to take care of dogs.
Hi Stormy, Shiny and Pope. Miss coming here, but I don't miss the controversial subjects. I'm afraid we would be considered a puppymill because of the number of dogs we have. Don't want to get into that argument with people who don't know what they are talking about.
Pope, make sure you sign our guest book next time you're on our site.
Wandering, your friend has a standard from a very nice line. Atalanta is a top breedeer. Owner handled is tough in poodles. We still compete against Tim Brazier every week and we've more than held our own in Toys.
Moderators, when are they going to improve the forum such as; last post by, who's online (it used to show), "quotes", prvious threads while you try to answer. I don't like to have to open up two windows so I can read responses that I'm trying to answer. Oh yeah, we still don't have smilies, and can't post pictures. I would think with the number of advertisers and visitors this site receives, they could improve the format of the forum. (hint, hint admin)
If you un-lucky, I may even throw in a Thought For the Day soon. Nothing controversial though :)
Has anyone heard from Allie in a while? I wonder if she's still showing in juniors.
Windy Valley, I don't think we've posted on the same thread, but I like how you make your point and your values/ethics.
ltlgto!!! Actually, that was me that said I missed your "thought for the day" and your "funny of the week". Your were posting them while we were in the process of looking for a dog/breeder, and for a while after, when we first got Maggie. You provided SO MUCH good information that I printed out and still have! I sure wish you would come around more often and give more of your excellent tips. Glad to hear all is going well with you. DON'T BE A STRANGER!!!
I saw a commerical that had a pink poodle in it. I can't remember what it was for though. Oh, I think it was Dell! For the new different color laptops! The girl was in pink with her pink phone, laptop, and poodle! Not sure if that was it but I did see one!
Congrats by the way!
Mommy to Thelma and Louise (dogs), Larry, Sam, Rescue (cats), Logan (hamster) and Charlie (dog).
ltlgto, thank you. I am sure we have crossed paths at some point. I did the circuit in Oregon a couple of years ago. I worked for a handler, and we were showing a toy black poodle for Shawna of Canada. I fell in love with him. But it was easy, as I have been in love with Poodles for ever. Someday, if I ever get more confident in my scissoring I will have a poodle to show.
If you ever come to Colorado to show, send me a message. You can hire me to bathe and blow out at least. I am not so good at doing all the hair spraying and switches. LOL Oh yeah, no one uses those things.
