I would like to know why it is that my 10 week old female kitten is so very cuddly with me, and why she sometimes will not leave me alone while I sleep. I love her, and want to bond with her,(and I feel that we have) but she wants to knead on my chest at night and she has not been declawed yet......OUCH. She likes to rub her head on my face and I like that during the day, but not ALL NIGHT LONG like she would like to do. I have had kittens before, but none quite like her.
She is just letting you know she is happy! When we first got Rescue she would sleep in between my husband and I, at our heads! She was just so happy! She still wakes me up every once in awhile for some loving. She sat on my chest last night and woke me up. You are her mommy and we all know we love to be around our mommy when we are babies!!!! Enjoy it now because when she gets older, the less loving you will get.
Mommy to Thelma and Louise (dogs), Larry, Sam, Rescue (cats), Logan (RIP) (hamster) and Charlie (dog).
You could try wearing her out before bed. It works for me (sometimes). I use their laser pointer toy and run them back and forth up and down the hall and then they let me sleep longer. My little one Bailey is 12 weeks old now and she still wakes me up too. She cries out in the night and needs to be reminded that I am there because she thinks she is alone. My other baby, Allie, used to do it too but she outgrew it. She's almost 5 months old now. She used to bite my nose out of the blue while I was sleeping to get my attention. I baby them so much and cuddle them during the day that they don't know the difference when I am trying to sleep. I am at work all day and when I am home they think every minute should be for them. Hopefully yours will outgrow it too and if you're lucky, she will still be a cuddly adult cat.
