I am a real Ellen fan. I enjoy the show and visit the website to catch up on stuff I miss. Recently I noticed that one of their sponsors is precious puppies. They advertise like an upscale breeder, but we all know that that people who advertise "designer dogs" and teacups as they do, and deal in the sheer volume they do are nothing more than a puppy mill. This bothers me, as, if you watch Ellen, she is a real animal lover. I know that if she knew what a puppy mill was, she'd have to dump that sponser. I've sent in my opinion, but its just one person. If a large volume of people wrote, maybe it would get noticed. If you click on "be a part of the show" and then the "what's bugging you" section, you can put in your gripe. If lots of people did this, maybe they'd hear. What do ya think?
I also love Ellen. She is a real good hearted person and loves animals. She also, like myself, has French Bulldogs. I doubt she realizes about puppymills either. Some people only see all the cute little puppies and not whats behind the doors.
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
Lets all write her, I did. If this is true, she will correct this.... If not she should bring up the topic and straighten us out. I wrote her and asked her to look further into their back ground...re: puppy mill etc.. Hope my letter and any or all others will open her eyes to what is or what is not going on! Hope I helped
Oh, Im sure it wont be the case that she sets us straight, its clearly a puppymill. Here's the link to the sponsors, check it out (hint:scroll down.) (tecnically, im not posting the link to the place so Im not breaking any rules) http://ellen.warnerbros.com/showinfo/moreinfo/
Please set me straight. Is what make a puppy mill the amount of puppies you have? I thought it was where they breed tons of puppies and didn't care for them..just as material items..without cleanliness..love and attention? I'm very confused. I bought my 2nd puppy from what I would have called a puppy mill. The man had the puppy unclean/out in the freezing cold...hardly any food...no attention...no socialization....just the dogs got together..made pups...he wants them gone and wants$$$$$$. So, fill me in... what is the definition of a puppy mill?
Redford, where you got your pup from sounds like a BYB (backyard breeder) who just breeds to make money and usually cares nothing about health, genetics, etc.
A puppymill, is usually cages on top of cages, on top of more cages, with dogs having puppies every cycle. Those that arent sold are kept to be bred on their first cycle and having puppies as soon as possible. Google puppymill in their images section and you will see what I mean.
The thing that fools people in one such as this is the fancy advertising and high prices. I can't say for sure that they mistreat the breeding stock, but think about it. Look at the number of breeds. How can you do quality breeding when you're dealing in those numbers. Its a dog factory. Not even to mention that they are cross breeding and breeding for "teacup" size. Yes, they have a guarantee and the reason they do is not because the pups are of great quality. Its because they deal in VOLUME and the dogs are considered disposable. If one is no good, no problem, replace it. Profit comes from quantity, not quality. Pretty pictures do not make a healthy pup with a low chance of genetic defects and a good temperament. Does that make more sense?
