I was told and was recommended Diamond dog food for my puppies. You can get it at a local COOP. Does anyone have any other information on this brand? Has anyone tried it? They say that it is all natural and supposed to help the digestive system and harden stools. I bought some today and am trying it out, but was curious if anyone else had luck with it. My puppies seem to have very sensitive stomachs (as with any puppies) and I just want to use what is best for them!!! Thanks for any suggestions!!!
We have used Diamond for my Saints and my Shih Tzu. We only have 1 shih tzu and 4 saints, the saints are bred about once a year and the pups are also fed Diamond. We have not had any problems with it, we feed the Premium Adult and the Puppy brands. I would not buy the other adult food, I think it's called Maintenance, there's just not enough good stuff in it. The lamb and rice is also good. Before we switched we were feeding Nutro, our Saints had gotten hot spots and other skin problems and the vet recommended feeding Nutro, which is also great, just twice as expensive. Diamond has been great, no skin problems and no stomach problems. Hope this helps.
My 4 month old puppy has been on royal canie and has had diarhea since i got him, Ive read a few posts that ppl also have the same problem and they seem to think its the dog food. Im now looking to buy a good dog food for my dogs. I need a small breed food because the big peices of dog food are just to big for my small dogs.
Ive tried wellness and merricks and chicken soup for the puppy soul and even solid gold and my older dogs didnt like it at all- (still have huge bags of each that i keep meaning to drop off at the shelter) but they all would eat this royal but even now Daisy has loose stools and this hasnt been a issue for her in months , But ive tried everything to get louies runny stools under control and nothing works. So im thinking of trying this food. should i put alittle in thier royal and gradually switch or it doesnt matter since they all have runny stools anyways?
So which dog food is better? diamond or Nutro? We do have one feed store in our city that sells these good brands of dog food. It took me awhile to find it but i did and they have every good brand there. they also sell horse feed and everything else to.. Let me know what i should try. Do they come in small bags or only the huge bags? I hate buying the huge bags when they dont eat it and then i have a 40.00 bag of food in my pantry x 4 - so i would like to buy a smaller bag and see how it goes first and then commit to the large bag. also i read some where that bagged dog food is only good 4 months after opening? is this also true? also what is so special about each of these dog foods?
I worked at a feed store years ago that sold all of those dog foods your talking about and Diamond dog food is the best for the price it is as good as most expensive brands or better. Nutro is a little better but much more expensive, other than that science diet and alot of others have corn and fillers for their main first ingredients unless they have changed it by now.
Master foods bought out Doane's and NUtro, they are the makers of Pedigree and othe r products .
I would go with Diamond, now, I have dachsies, and despite having corn in it, they do the best on guess Purina One, yes, 4 are on senior and 2 on weight management. What can I say, no peeing alot, no pooping alot, I add Prozyme to the food.
My daughter is now using, Iams, toy breed, and her two minis' from rescue are doing super
