Hmmm...I sent you an email and said that I didn't think so because he doesn't have the lip liner and eyeliner but I just read online that chinchilla persians are born with tabby markings. He could be a chinchilla golden. Definitely not a chinchilla silver like the Fancy Feast cat. How old is he now? Mine both changed a lot in the first few months but they are a black and a torti. There is a nice photo of a chinchilla golden kitten on cozykittens.com if you look at the kitten colors page - multi colored. But yours does look more like the golden tabby that is right above the chinchilla on her list. Yours is a beautiful kitten though. Have you seen photos of the parents? Will you be picking him up or is he being shipped? I couldn't turn him down myself, but I am thoroughly hooked on Persians and I am more concerned with the temperment of my next one than with coloring. I have one perfect angel and one psycho. I adore them both!
thanks for your reply MaxandAllie he is 2 months old and he was shiped to me a couple of hours ago now.. he is active but doesnt feel secure :S i like him.. chinchilla or not.. i just want to know :S if he is a chinchilla that means he is going to change when he gets older.. i didnt see the parents, i geuss i will ask for some pics
I don't see a lot of Persian people in the forums so I wanted to help. I do spend a lot of time just looking at all the websites. Good luck! He's such a beauty! I saw a cage in the pictures so he may take a little while to adjust but I'm sure he'll be showing you he can purr in no time. My girls came to me used to being manhandled by little boys and stepped on by big dogs so they were not shy. That was important since I have a big dog. And I was able to drive to NH to get them so I met the breeder and saw her house full of happy kitties. She sent pictures of the parents and of every week of the baby's development while I was waiting for them to be old enough to come to me. I researched a lot and my breeder, Melissa is great. She's there for me with any question I need help on. And she wants to know how they are changing as they grow. I'm thinking about my third for Christmas. My goal is to be the crazy cat lady by 2008.
they meant people who have, love, or are persian fanciers. people who know every thing about this breed. I have had persians off and on all my life, but don't know more than just the general stuff about the breed.
I can't access your pictures like I could with the kitten pics you first posted. And everything else on the page is arabic so I can't tell if there was some other thing I had to do to access the photos. But it sure sounds like a chinchilla persian. They do change their appearance and coat a lot as they grow into adults. That "tabby" like appearance should disappear completely until he is almost a solid color. And their eyes are usually deep green with "eyeliner".
I know this topic is old, but I thoguht I would add my knowledge to the discussion. To me the kitten looks like a brown tabby. If I could see some current pictures of him Icould give a btter idea. He definitely has too much black barring on him to be considered a chinchilla anything. This is from the CFA's website describibg a chinchilla golden:
CHINCHILLA GOLDEN: undercoat pale honey to bright apricot. Coat on back, flanks, head, and tail sufficiently tipped with black to enhance a golden appearance. Legs and end of tail may be shaded with tipping. Chin, ear tufts, stomach, and chest, consistent dilute color, much lighter in tone than the undercoat color. The general effect is lighter than a shaded golden due to less tipping. Rims of eyes, lips, and nose outlined with black. Nose leather: rose. Paw pads: black. Eye color: green or blue-green. Disqualify for incorrect eye color, incorrect eye color being copper, yellow, gold, amber, or any color other than green or blue-green.
I breed Persians and Himalayans so I have quite a bit of eperience determining cat colors! Here is my website if anyone is interested! I hope this has been helpful!
Hey Daphnesdolls! I love your website and I visit it from time to time just to see your latest cuties. You had some when you were using names like "Peter Parker" that really pulled my heartstrings but I was looking for a kitten that I didn't need to have shipped. I have 3 now so I guess I'm a little over the top already , but I still love to look at your kittens. This person Swaer hasn't really been around since the last post. I would have loved to see her recent pics but the website was blank where the photos were supposed to be. She did say she loved him anyway and didn't care if he wasn't chinchilla so I guess that's all that matters.
