Were you asking about cream or white? If so I think red, cream, and silver would make for a beautiful christmas wedding and it wouldnt be quite as dramatic as the red and white. Just my opinion, but Im sure anything you choose will be beautiful.
Hey! I like 78101 but my fave is 78102. I think they are pretty cute! As for red, I had red for my bridesmaids and they were a wonderful contrast to my dress (cream) and they all looked lovely! Just make sure they all are ordered at the same time! I had two maid of honors and my second one had to get another dress because it ended up WAY to big on her (she lost alot of weight!) When she went by herself to go get it - she thought she was getting red, nope found out two hours before we left for the church hers was WATERMELON!!! Yikes! Thankfully my MOH's switched places so it looked like I had 1 MOH and her dress was slightly different! I was sad cause I wanted all my girls in red, but believe me, during that morning I really didn't care - I didn't want my BF crying cause she felt she screwed things up!!
I got married on Christmas Eve. We decorated in burgandy , gold, and lots of candlelight. We stuck with a color scheme for my wedding, but my bridesmaids all picked out a dress that fit their body type.
I like the red/cream/silver idea!!! My dress is snow white though so would cream fit in?? Would you do maybe cream vests/tie on the guys and the red dresses for the girls? Or put fiance in silver vest and the guys in cream? I was thinking the guys in red (vest/tie) to match the girls and fiance in white (vest/tie) to match me. Yes/no??? I would give my girls free choice on dresses but....i know them too well...and i am afraid i would have to kill them!!! I know what they would come back with....i shudder to think!!!! :) It's easier if i pick it out, that way I know exactly what they are getting, exactly what color and the colors will be the same!!! I MIGHT let them choose their own shoe style but...even that has the possibility of going down hill quick!!! :)
Back to the dresses... I'm going for the formal look. Something different. Something that when the guests see the dresses they'll think, "man those are gorgeous". I don't want the normal cookie cutter strappy poufy dress. ugh! I want something different that not many, if any, people use!!! :) I have learned that the satin fabric is more elegant and more suited for an evening formal wedding ceremony as the organza/chiffon is less formal and would be better suited for day weddings and warm weather. NOT ME!! My wedding is in north Arkanasas in WINTER!!! Chilly willy!! :) (they'll be wearing elbow gloves)
Personally, I think grey looks better with white, not cream, but that's only my opinion. I think cream lends itself to a warmer contrast, like dark brown or green, but once again, it's all subjective! You go with what YOU want!
I would put the guys in red to match the girls and your fiance in white to match you. Maybe you could do something like cream or silver or whatever color on just your maid of honor and best man if you wanted to add that other color....
Masti-that's exactly what I was thinking! Red dresses and red tuxes for the attendants and then groom in white to match me. I was just thinking on the dresses that I like they have the sash around the rib cage area and maybe i could go red on the dresses and so as to not have such a contrast do cream on the sash??
**HEY MASTI!! Haven't heard from you in a while!! How are those babies doing??!!** (does it count as a hijak if it's your own thread?!?!)
hee, hee, hee you're hijacking your own thread! LOVE IT! The puppies are doing great! They went in for their deworming yesterday and the biggest is at 5 pounds! Little porkers :)) Too cute!
Anyway, I would, actually I should say I did, do red for my girls dresses and it was a lovely contrast. I would definitly do cream on the sashes. If you want I could probably dig up a pic off a cd of my wedding and show you what it looked like.
So yeah, that was my wedding party. Not a very flattering pic for anybody (didn't realize a curl was falling out on my head!) and it was the only one I could find right away that had the whole party (I think my mom took this picture!) anyway, notice one of my MOH's to the right of me? She's the one that ended up going back and picking up the wrong color dress! They were all supposed to be red.
And looking for these pics brought back sweet memories, it's only been five years but, darn it, we looked so young! **sighs** LOL!
Pen got to it before me but...that is a great wedding picture!! I love the dresses!!! Very pretty!! Isn't it funny how you don't really think about that kind of stuff until you break out the pictures!!! Ahh memories!!!LOL :)
Masti you must put some more pictures of those babies up!!!!
I love the red!!! See, the problem I have is when i say red to people, they think like hooker red or something that's going to scream and blind you when they walk down the isle(sp)!! I love your shade of red, it's deep but not burgandy!! I was trying to stay away from the burgandy.
Yeah, people looked at me like I was strange when I mentioned it, too! But hey, it was my wedding! I say do what you want to do, there are tons of people who have REALLY weird things at their weddings! LOL :)
I can't wait to see what you end up picking for dresses and all!
