Okay...I have recently aquired a stray cat that decided to have kittens on a piece of furniture that my mother was coming to get the next day. Well, needless to say it's still out there with kittens taking over!! It's an antique dry sink that sits up pretty high!! The mother won't let me move them and I'm afraid that they'll fall out because they're already trying to climb over the baracade that I've rigged up for them. Any suggestions before one of them gets hurt??
Offer the Mom a quiet, safe cozy place (like a closet or a corner behind something) with maybe a box and a blanket and with some luck momma will move them herself. Is there any way to make the current location less attractive? Like less private, less quiet, too bright. If she's new to your family, I can see why she wouldn't trust you to take them anyplace and you don't want to take a chance on her not taking care of them if you did. But maybe you can convince her to do it for you. If she's a good Mom, the kittens starting to climb will be making her nervous as well. And you should make sure she doesn't have to let them out of her sight to get to her food and litter in the new location too.
