I have a kitten that is 11 weeks old today, and he is always running around. I know that kittens are playful when they are this young, but I justed wanted to know when he gets a little older if he will like to sit on the couch when I am and relax? Also, will getting him neutered help with this? Just wanted to see if anyone else out there has had a kitten that has been like this.
Probably in about a year!! just kidding, but kittens are very active and playful, and even my older cats are playful as well. I know what you mean by running around though, you can expect that to last for a few months, at least.Look out for your Christmas tree!!
Kitten are notorious for being very active. Please watch your electrical cords, computer cords. He will be going through a teething phase. If you see him go to the cords, wrap aluminum foil around them. You are protecting him from electrical shock, and you won't have to replace the p.c. cords like I did. Anchor your xmas tree, and just place ornaments that you won't care about. Any breakable ones, or grandmas', keep off the tree. I am speaking through experience here!!! LOL Please have him neutered, it will calm him, just a tad. But the urine odor of an adult male is awful!!!Just for that alone is worth it, never mind he could reproduce, and we just have way too many cats, and not enough homes!! Helpful hint: play with him and tire him out, just before you go to bed. You will find that he will play for about five minutes, and then settle in with you. Good Luck and congratulations!
EVERYTHING is fair game to hunt, stalk, pounce on, etc... He will calm down, but not all cats are overly affectionate towards people. They snub you most of the time, then they will come around when they feel like cuddles. Mine greet people at the door along with the dogs and they will pet themselves on you or lay across your chest with the worst timing, never fails.
I've also found that male cats tend to be more affectionate than female, but that is just my opinion based on personal experience.
And wait until you see what happens to that poor Christmas tree lol Buy an extra pack of back up bulbs ;)
I have 2 kitties. One younger than the other and he is still into everything at 6 mnths. It's all in good fun though. I love them too much to care what they get into and the things they can I keep tucked away safely and the others I really never had to worry about because I guess they no better, I've been really fortunate. They really are great kitties. They make me lmao.
