Good to hear is was nothing to be concerned about. My little Roo, is almost back to where you can't tell she even had the surgery. The drain tube was not so bad, except she really could not sleep in the bed with stuff draining out of it. I do have my limits. LOL

Have you tried hot compresses for the drainage? I have used boiled terry cloth rags or washcloths that are cooled and then pressed gently but firmly against the draining wound so that the fluid matter is pushed out of the wound and does not build up.
The heat helps the drainage and the terry cloth helps with the clean up. I always washed the cloths in bleach afterwards. I always cleaned the wound site (gently) with alcohol just to be sure that there was no germ transfer from the cloth.
Depending on the amount of fluid, I did this two to four times a day. We never had to have a drain tube put in.
I've done this with draining abscesses and draining sebaceous cysts.
