When was the first day your dog was in heat? You can very easily take your dog in to be spayed in another week probably when the heat is over and not deal with this. I would strongly recommend calling your vet and making the appointment. How lucky you are you wont have the problem of an unwanted litter. :-)) Good Luck. This is easy to handle, you're lucky, many are not as fortunate.
I am thinking if they were tied on two separate days, this was not an accident but rather an intentional breeding. Don't you think it would have been better to educate yourself regarding breeding, whelping and health related issues to your breed prior to letting them do the deed?
He's your friend, your partner, your defender your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours faithful and true to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to worthy of such devotion
all i wanted to know is how many times they have to get stuck together in order for my female to be pregnant ...i dont need ppl telling me i should get them fixed i paid good money for my dogs and i only am breeding my female once..im from rhode island
In answer to your question--It only take ONCE! Roughly 62 days before the birth and NO not every dog can deliver without complications. C-Sections may be necessary and cost about what you paid for the dogs. Now you have several months of stuff to deal with. From whelping kits to deworming and proper care until weaning......not to mention advertising.
Why would you only want one litter--and why not buy some books and talk to vets/ breeders about having puppies in your area BEFORE the deed is done?
For anyone reading this that is thinking the KIDS should see the process--remember that sometimes the process includes DEATH, deformities, sickness AND A LOT OF LOST SLEEP! All the neighbors who like your dog--and want one--they WILL NOT PUT THEIR MONEY WHERE THEIR MOUTHS ARE......they like them when they are someone else's and do NOT cost them anything. So all those puppies.........may or may not be with you for a VERY LONG TIME!!?
I have dealt with "casual" breeders that wanted puppies--one lady ended up losing all the puppies and about lost her 'baby' because they had "friends" that wanted one. IF THEY WANTED ONE--there are numerous quality breeders on here--for instance--where they could have already gotten one.
Another lady saw dollar signs and suddenly she had puppies and realized her bitch was peeing on the carpet and that puppies could "smell" up her pretty house. So she wanted to know what to do....... DEAL WITH IT--and spay the bitch. Puppies chew, pee and poo, and the labor process deals with vomiting, and destruction ........ my cell phone got 'killed' during one litter when I left to goto the bathroom myself!!
So--- BEWARE--be educated. Spend some more money to find out all the things you need--and be prepared!
Sorry Pit, the fact you even had to ask how many times 2 dogs have to "be stuck" in order to get a pregnancy tells everyone in the world who knows anything about breeding you have no business doing it.
Do yourself a huge favor, and the world, spay the dogs and love them as your pets. Sincerely you are not close to being on the right path nor are you doing this for the right reasons.
One of the things that strikes me as sad about this thread,is the blatant lack of knowledge on the part of the OP.She wants to know how many times the dogs have to get 'stuck' before the dog is pregnant. Why is it so hard for people to understand that breeding is not just a matter of throwing 2 dogs together, and voila! a healthy litter of puppies. Why is it so hard to research the breeding process, and everything that goes along with it? I'm saddened by this thread, which is just like so many others we've seen.
yea im sure u did hear that from many of ppl but am them alight so don't get stuff twisted because u don't know who i am and i don't know who u are ok..when i tell someone something ok i mean what i say.. and first off i don't stick them together i was walking them outside on my way to the park and thats when it happened so everybody just cause i said i paid good money for them doesn't mean im gonna breed them until they cant breed anymore what is wrong with u ppl.......
thank you i appreciate it.. ppl can just be so judge mental i ask a question and they wanna sit there and judge me they dont even know who i am and they wannna sit there and tell me what i should do with my dogs lol there funny
i am with pitbull1....ok i am not saying that no one should listen to you but when someone comes one here and says that their dog is going to have puppies or that they are going to breed THEIR dog , you dont need to be like "fix them" yes that is a good thing to do if its a unwanted litter but if its NOT one then really save your breath because really we could fight over this subject forever but is it really going to make a differance? no its not....so people stop being like that.OK?
No one has to know you. They are making a good judgment call.
If you show your ignorance what do people expect. Ok you ignorant fool, they can get pg from one tie! Something anyone breeding should know before the dogs are ever bred. So WTH do you expect? You have to ask a simply question thats one of the 1st things you learn about breeding it shows you are ignorant.
Someone isn't judging without knowing you, you've made it clear. You don't know what it takes to get pg so its assumable you don't know what to do during pregnancy, birthing or after or any of the complications that can cause harm to your female or pups. You don't know of the death that can occur to your female or pups or proper care.
I am one of the FIRST to step up to the plate and offer whatever assistance I can to probably 98% that come here looking for help. I will always continue to do that.
But there is a huge difference to those I have helped and currently am helping and this OP. To come here and ask a question such as "dogs getting stuck" to ensure pregnancy is absolute ignorance. I'm sorry. It's those people that truly have no business breeding. This is my opinion, nobody has to agree with me but it's very very rare to see me say something as I did on this thread.
To make it even more important. The breed this person has is a breed in which there is a huge amount of controversy and we dont need to get into it. It's a lovely breed but perhaps more then most this breed needs to be bred by professionals, who temperament test, who genetically test and do it right and know what the heck they are doing and working with.
I again say, please get your dogs fixed and love them and enjoy them as wonderful pets and not money machines. There is no reason for "just 1 litter", that does not make sense.
