We have a dog at the shelter that i volenteer at and they put this dog down as a Catahoula Leoporad Dog mixed puppy who has gorgeous multi-colored eyes. That is what they put on the website about her and i was just wondering, because i have never heard of it, if anyone else has heard of this kind of dog. Here is her picture and the link to our shlter. I hope thats not aginst the rules if it is let me know and i will earse the link!
Ooooo ok that makes more sense. I just wasnt sure if it was an acual breed or not. But they are very beutiful dogs! Remind me alot of the Australian Cattle Dog with their markings and the Australian Shepherd.
You have never heard of a Catahoula Leapord Dog? I think she looks more like a Catahoula Bulldog IMO. I would think her eyes would be the reason to pen Catahoula blood on her. The weird dog my BIL has is a Catahoula/Standard Poodle. I've voting Catahoula Bulldog you can look them up to get breed info and compare for yourself. Many breeds look similar to the APBT that is why biting breeds are mis identified as Pit Bulls.
Guess I have heard of Catahoula's because I live in the west in the middle of cattle country. They are quite popular here. There is also another dog I have seen that is just called the Native American dog. It looks more like a solid red healer.
He's your friend, your partner, your defender your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours faithful and true to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to worthy of such devotion
Yea i havent but ok i know now! The name just sounded so weird and i wasnt really sure because i have NEVER heard of it. Your right though they are very cute dogs and it makes sense you would hear about them more because your are down by the cattle ranches where im sure alot of people have them.
A breed that is growing in popularity in both homes and shelters and also is used by BYBs to make mixed APBT X catahoula which they call purebred & they try to market them as Merle pits to get $$$$. Merle is a color that can not be produced by a purebred pit
PatchOPits you are totally right. And i have defiently noticed more dog in shlters that arent Pit Bulls but look like they could have some in them, even though most dont, and people just pass them by not even caring to read the info tag that TELLS them what breed that dog is. Very sad BUT very true =(
