have now got my new baby, topolino, he is a 7 week old staffy. had him for four days now and hes really good. we have had no noise from him over night and he is already using his puppy training pad. I think we have been really lucky with him
I've had good success with rubber latex toys and toys with long dangling feet and arms. When he playfully nips you, say "no bite" and then give him a chew toy. If you encourage or laugh at his playful nipping now, you'll be sorry later as he gets stronger and thinks biting is an fun thing to do.
Another way to discourage his playful biting is to say "OUCH" and turn your back to him for a little while. He will learn to associate biting with being ignored by you.
thanks for that nodogyet, sure made interesting reading. i have been thinking of getting him one of those kong toys which you put the treats in and he does have a few chew toys which i now think ill try distracting him with instead
