I have dalmation molly fish and my black and silver molly has a big eye. it's definatly not normal and it's red looking. I have no idea what happened to him. and I don't know what to do? is it infectious? do I need meds for him? please help me.
That sounds like 'pop-eye' and its a bactieral infection. It's tricky to treat. Do a 25-40% water change. If you can, separate that fish into his own separte little tank from the rest of the fish and treat him specifically with an antibacterial medication. If you cant', just dose all of the fish with the antibacterial drops medication. I had a fish that got it, and she got better for a little while but then she worsened so bad she couldn't see to eat, and I couldn't keep dosing the rest of the fish (the bottle said not to treat past 14 days), so she went to the great fishtank in the sky.
Never trust a tall dwarf... he's lying about something.
ok so here's my situation. I have a 10 gallon tank and I have 2 males and 1 female. and a orange loach. ok I know it's bad that I have 2 famales but that was my fault. I thought one was a guy adn the other was a girl. so now I'm conpleatly screwed because they are always fighting over the white molly. so I was thinking mabey he got hurt over fighting? could that be the reason for it also?
