A good friend of mine moved to the great state of Connecticut (where i'm from) after living in Wyoming for a few decades. She lives on beautiful wooded lot next to a state forest, and one day, while in her kitchen she glances out the window and sees a pair of mountain lions in her backyard, she grabs her poloriod and snaps a few pictures and then calls me, pleased with her discovery...
You can imagine MY shock at hearing that there are Mtn lions in her backyard! I tell her to call an animal control officer and tell them what she had seen, she did, and they said call DEP. Within half an hour a DEP rep was AT her house, the cats were gone of course, but she showed him the pics, grainy, and of poor quality, but clearly mountain lions nonetheless. The DEP guy asks to bring the pics back and get opinions from other wildlife experts. Two weeks later she gets a call from them
"We have come to the conclusion that your pictures were a pair of Golden Retrievers, and that Mtn Lions/Cougars have not been in this portion of New England for nearly 25 years. We will be keeping your photos for further case references in light of the situation"
Total BS.... someone from Wyoming would KNOW a lion when they see one!
So... never underestimate the impossible!
Of course there's no "I" in team... but hey look! There is an "I" in pie :)
