Normally I just use the Sentry Pro spray for fleas & ticks. I've never had issue with it and its always worked. However ticks have been REALLY bad lately. At work, EVERY dog has at least one tick on them, even if they're on advantix/frontline. Since its been so bad I thought I'd give the Sentry Pro XFC a try. Its a topical treatment. About a half hour after I put it on the dogs, (and yes I washed my hands), my face started to burn like crazy. It hasnt stopped and its been like 5hrs now. I called the poison control and all they could say is to put cool compresses and see a doctor or pharmacist tomorrow. Not to mention Tuckers skin is red where I put it on. Going to give them all baths in a little while to get this crap off. DONT BUY IT!! Not worth the money. Guess we just have to deal with the nasty ticks. Nothing works!!
The point of a flea/tick preventive is to prevent the critters from staying on the dog. You might still find a tick but mostly likely will fall off the dog after a short period of time.
Often after hiking with my dogs I give them a quick once over and pull any ticks that might have hopped on for the ride. If I don't I will find them in their dog beds or wherever later on. I have never had a tick start feeding while my pet has been on Frontline Plus.
