When I moved into my apartment, I was delited to find that I can have a cat, that's when April came into my life. I spoiled her, I pampered her, & I babied her!!!! Well, now she's 3 & 1/2 years old and since I bought her, we welcomed my daughter Eva a new cat by the name of Fiona. They are all the best of friends. With very little room, I had to move into a house a month ago. I did everything I was suppose to do. I place both cats in the basement with litter boxes, food, and water. Fiona is doing great. April...not so great. After the first week she ran up and his in the shed. I had to force her out and put her back in basement so she can move her around more and she was happy. I tried taking her out of the basement, but she finds a place to hide and never comes out. She is back in the basement. I just think it's been too long. Does anyone have advice? At what point do I call her vet? Oh and I lay out throw blankets that have the "old house" smell. That doesn't work either.
Well I got lucky when I moved with my siamese. When I moved in april it took him about three days and he was fine. We even have the fire alarms tested here once a month. I have a vet that has a Dr. that deals with behavior of the animal. I would think you should find such a vet they can offer advice free over the phone which I think is all you might need. I sat and talked to Tigger alot the day I moved in and spent alot of time with him the first few days. Maybe all your kitty needs is a little more attention for a few days upstairs and play with them and let this kitty know you are there. Good luck.Jackie
