As a well-known amateur cynologist (in my little world), people are constantly asking me what breed of dog is easy-care, intelligent, adaptable and good with toddlers and/or elderly people.
I often recommend Doberman Pinschers. This story just goes to show what amazing dogs they are. There is a breeder who used to advertise his Doberman babies by showing a drawing of a toddler kissing the muzzle of one.
Despite their undeserved reputation for ruthless ferocity, they are gentle, protective and intuitive.
Why don't I have one? I like Standard Poodles more, because they fit my personality better. But if I were younger and had more time to train, I'd love to have a Doberman.
