I would like some advice. My parents have an english bulldog, three years old, well trained, calm ,great dog. The problems is that they have moved to an area with high humidity and the dog has developed some sort of skin condition where he has a horrible odor and he is itchy. They have tried absolutely everything and nothing works. There is a treatment with cortizone but it turns he is allergic. DOes anyone have any recommendations? I thought of posting as a last resort. They are considering giving him up for adoption to a loving home in a different area.
It is also possible that your parent's dog is suffering from food allergies. Bullies are so prone to skin conditions , sometimes it's hard to tell, but after the shampoo treatment, which is an excellent idea, I would do a bit of investigation in the diet dept.It is also possible that the dog's skin has become infected,so another trip back to the vet might be in order.
