As long as you realize one of two things, people either aren't going to know what it means so it's mainly for yourself, or they are going to be asking you all the time what it stands for...
I guess Kova from those choices too, but I like to keep things simple with pet names so they aren't the best fit of those mentioned. If you are dead set on the "Tank" route, Tank itself, or even Sherman would be better in my opinion.
I think I would just leave his name Tank. Since he is already use to being called that. I have a pup that is 20 months old. I always called him Little for obivious reasons. Everyone said you can't call him Little, so we did just what you are doing, trying to come up with another name. Well he is now registered as Windy Valley Little Bit of Luck and still goes by Little. Somethings are just meant to be. Not sure what I will end up registering Spike as. I am thinking something to do with Point,ie Point Taken, Right on Point or maybe "You Talkin' To Me" Sorry did not mean to hijack.
But I like Tank, and Sherman would be my next choice cause I had a big boy named Sherman.
He's your friend, your partner, your defender your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours faithful and true to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to worthy of such devotion
Out of the list that you put up I also like Kova. But if he is so used to being called Tank you guys should just keep it Tank. It all has to do with personality. My Tri came with that name but we would rather call him klutz! Lol. If he acts like a Tank then let him be Tank! Lol.
He will adjust to a name change just fine, since he's a puppy. My pup Ridd*ck was known as 'Red' (because he wore a red collar from birth) until he was almost 4 1/2 months old and he did fine learning his name.
Never trust a tall dwarf... he's lying about something.
louis14, my dog's name is the same way! Some days he's Dufus, Floppy Dog because he seems to flop when he jumps, the Dexter...Dexter is his name. Mastibull, he is very handsome and looks like he should have a proud and majestic name. I like Diesel. Peter(short for Peterbilt) or Mack comes to mind as well. Okay we have friends who drive truck :o)!
We still haven't picked and whenever I am getting his attention, I will persist in saying Tank - LOL! I think that's what he's going to be known as I'm afraid! Every other name doesn't seem to fit him. Darn it! I should have come up with a better nickname for him at birth.....LOL!
Maybe an opposite name, like when someone names a Bassett hound Rocket. He could be Tiny, or Neutron, or Homely, or if he's very docile you could call him Cujo. The nicest cat I ever had was named Snake. Then again, he was a hateful little kitten when he got the name...
He's doing really really well. Very smart and a quick learner! And yes, we kept his name Tank! After about another week of debating, we just left it at that, as whenever I addressed him or talked about him we would say Tank and then my daughter started saying it....And the rest was history! LOL! So Tank it is!
But thank you everyone for your time and advice on names, I do appreciate it and would of course had appreciated it more, if we had changed it LOL!
