Does anyone watch this series? I think it is easily the best show on right now. Season 2 is unbelievable.
For those who don't know, it is about a blood spatter expert for the Miami Police Department named Dexter Morgan who has a secret life as a serial killer but he kills murders, real bad guys etc. He was found in a cargo container where his parents were killed in a horrific manner and raised by the police officer who found him and taught him how to use these urges as a vigilante.
Last season, you found out Dexter had a brother who was also in that cargo container but he turned out to be a bad egg who murdered for the rush of it so Dexter had to "put him down", his own blood brother after he had finally begun to experience a relationship. At the start of season 2, he was having a hard time getting back to his old self because of it.
There is a police officer Sgt. Doakes, who works with him that knows there is something off and the guy has been tailing him, trying to pin something on him for a while now. That police officer broke into Dexter's house last night and stole his slides of blood he takes as trophies from each victim.
The FBI is investigating the murders Dexter has committed because they think "The Bay Harbor Butcher" works in Miamis police force...
This can't be the end for Dexter, I think the story will take a turn and Doakes will have found a new respect for Dexter and try to protect him. Might even feel regret for exposing him? I'm looking forward to the next interaction between the two.
If you remember, Doakes killed the woman who killed his wife and there is still that incident under the bridge where he shot the suspect?
If not, I think it will go in the opposite obvious direction where their issues Doakes will come to a final head with Doakes framed for the whole thing since it appears he is nuts with his hatred for Dex and how far he has admittedly gone with it.
They want you to think Dexter was cuffed, but I don't think he was from that commercial for next week. I bet they make him analyze those blood slides, they can't know they are his because Doakes would have to admit to getting them illegally. The suspense is killing me lol
Rita could be annoying when she was whiny, lacking confidence in herself and insecure I like her much better when she has a spine but Lila's rubber me the wrong way consistently. Deb's my favorite female lead. I find a little it of myself in her with her determination, her filthy mouth and sarcastic wit.
Okay, I had missed Sunday's episode, so watched it last night. WOW!!! So much happened. I was at the edge of my seat. I figured they would draw out the "fire" story. I honestly think Dexter is going to kill that broad.
I agree, and am leaning towards, Doakes supporting Dexter by perhaps turning a blind eye. Doakes may be blamed in the beginning for the murders, and Dexter will get him off the hook by creating another one.
I know what you mean about missing the episodes, my DVR box would be set to series recording like all my other shows, but thankfully there is Showtime on demand :) which saves space for other things there in the long run lol
I was thinking today maybe there is going to be a twist with Lundy as well, something tells me there is something wicked brewing in this guy too.
Something was eerie about the way he insisted on keeping it quiet that it was someone in the department for sure, not to mention the way he plays with Dexter like a cat torturing a rodent. He's not a stupid man, I am not buying that he hasn't yet pieced it together.
I don't know how any of them are going to get out of this. I noticed next week Doaks escapes!! WOW, there's only two episodes left. I can only imagine how they are going to leave us hangin', in suspense, until next season!!
The way they dangled "see the stunning conclusion", I hope this doesn't mean the end for the series... But I can understand if they ended it while they were on top of their game. Too many shows don't know when to call it quits, at the same time a lot of good ones get cancelled.

Thank you juno, I'll definitely keep that it in mind. Can't give any promises though! I hate waiting for a show I like to start back up, seems like Lost is gone forever. So we'll see, I like to hold on to the illusion that I have control of things lol
I read that if the writers' strike continues, CBS may air Dexter as a mid season replacement.
Exposing those who never watched it to our favorite lovable blood thirsty psychopath could help ensure another season when people start subbing just to see what comes next on season 2 and 3. would be good for us fans.
If I seem to have a superiority complex, it is because you make it so easy.
OMG, thanks Pope for bumping this post This is one of my fav shows, and have NEVER missed an episode . It just broke my heart with what happened to Rita . But, I have to say, John Lithgow plays an awesome villian. I can't wait for the new season. Did anyone watch the interview online between Michael C Hall, and John Lithgow on Monday at 12:00 PST? So cool!
Animals, what animals? My children just have alot of hair!
John Lithgow is a talented actor, as is the rest of the cast of Dexter. I am also very satisfied with the way this season played out and how things were revealed to us.
How intense was Deb finally finding out about Laura Moser?
I have a feeling some heavy things are about to come down on Dexter at the beginning of next season, as far as his possibly having to explain away his prints inside Trinitys home, the build site... Law enforcement might be curious as to why Trinity would want to get so close to Dexter. First the Ice Truck Killer, now Trinity. I think Deb especially is starting to put things together, whether she knows it or accepts it yet or not. The question is what will she do with it if she finds out her brothers deepest demons.
With what her character has been through, I can see her repaying Dexter for saving her life by protecting him much like Christine did out of love for her father.
"You know, I've given the matter some thought, and I think I'd be willing to be a house pet to a race of super intelligent aliens."
In the books, Deb knew all about him and was fine with it. The series might be getting back to its roots since its split in to a different direction after the first season. It could be interesting if they do. In the books, Cody and Ester got their own dark passengers for Dexter to deal with. so they can now explore that aspect in light of their mother's demise as well. who knows, maybe they did it. Cody was in his shack after all. who knows what he really saw there.
Even after 4 seasons, there is still so much of this messed up character to explore. Can't wait for season 5.
Btw, speaking of demons, I sure hope they'll stay away from book 3.
The essence of hypocrisy is the tendency to make an exception of oneself.
Guessing you heard wrong because they were picked up for a fourth and fifth season at the same time. Pushing Daisies was just not that good, which is why it got cancelled, I tried to watch it really really did but neither character could really hold my attention. But when Dead Like Me was cancelled I was not happy.
