So i got Tito from a shelter 3 months ago. He was found on the side of the highway, skinny and happy as could be. I know he is deff. part Pit. No question about that. The shelter said hes part lab too...I dont see it at all. Hes nothing like a lab. I think he might be part pointer. Acts like one. Swims like crazy. Trys to hunt birds. His paws are starting to get spots. His belly(in the white) has small spots. here are some pics.
He has gained 10pounds of muscle since i have owned him. He is VERY smart! Makes me feel dumb. Hes loves kids, men, women and other dogs. Oh and loves skateboarding. Hes 1 year old aprox. hes 55pounds right now. Hes a VERY fast runner. All the pits ive ever had have never been this fast.
When he matures a bit more you may be able to see different breed characteristics coming through. a year is still young to tell much though you will never know for sure
Maybe you haven't been around 'real' pit bulls in the past I say that because APBTs are extremely fast, athletic and agile when bred properly. For example, my oldest blows away even boarder collies in the agility ring which is a breed known to be some of the fastest agility dogs competitors LOL Too many now a days are seeing poorly bred BYB dogs that are big bulky and or short and wide often mixes that people call APBTs. But in actuality the APBT is a breed who has long lean muscle
The fur and tail look a little thicker than an APBT so I'd guess a pit mix. It may or may not be lab in there or could be multiple breeds with APBT showing up a lot in the physical traits. At a year he is lanky and developing so it isn't a good time to judge body type
The pup is adorable no matter what the mix is. Sounds like a lot of fun too. If he is fast and energetic you may want to look into agility. There are agility orgs that don't require the dog to be purebred to compete such as NADAC

not saytin my other pits werent fast! But hes just the fastest one i have ever had. Ya his fur Is half inch to an inch which is acceptble pit fur legnth but its thicker then pits. He is a tall pit. But i have seen taller. Hes 22.5 inches at the shoulder. What ever he is i love him. I think i will look into putting him into the agilty comps. Hes learning so fast!
