We have a beautiful English Bulldog he just turned one in October, so far has had a clean bill of health. I met both parents on site and the breeders we purchased him from are reputable. We would like to stud him out as I cannot see letting his beautiful color and build go to waste. I am looking for any reading material online or book before we venture into this new world. I am very careful to research before I begin anything, and I want to make sure I properly take care of my bully. He is a beautiful red and white and has become a wonderful part of our family. Any information that could be passed on to me would be wonderful as we are totally new to this, and want to do this the right way. I have seen TOO many people into this for the money and have seen poor litters in my journey to find Angus (our 1 yr old bully). Bad hips all kinds of problems, I looked tirelessly for this dog for almost 2 years before I came upon a reputable breeder who would allow me to tour their home, see both parents on site amd ,meet with their vet. So many scams these days you cant be too careful!! Here I am dragging on and on. Sorry I just love my bullys!! Again any info. anyone could give me good or bad please feel free. I am home most of the day and have the time to give to see that this is done properly.
First of all this is not how it works with dogs. It is the owner of the female who seeks out those dogs suitable for mating. The best way to promoate your male is in the AKC show ring. Once your dog has a conformation Champion title, breeders will be seeking you out. Any serious breeder will require proof of OFA hip and elbow certifications, a current CERF test, and a negitive brucellous test(no older than 30 days) You best bet is to neuter your male and just enjoy him being the wonderful dog that he is.
p.s. most bulldogs are not bred naturally, they are collected and bred via artifical insemenation. This is a costly ordeal. So most that would be interested in using your male will expect genetic testing to be done, and have a Ch in front of his name.
He's your friend, your partner, your defender your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours faithful and true to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to worthy of such devotion

Please tell me that you are kidding ? We foster for a bulldog rescue. Alot of the bullys that come into rescue , came from breeders with the same mentality as you have. Do yourself and your dog a favor. Have him neutered and love him as a family pet. Believe me, having a beautiful color and build does not mean that he will produce healthy puppies. Anyone that truly loves this breed would put health above looks in a heartbeat. Are you planning on showing him ? Waiting until he is two and can have the necessary testing done ? If neither of those things are on your agenda , then breeding should not be either.....
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
