So i have 4 cats all together. My two older ones who are about 6 months old(one female one male brother and sister) have decided sometimes they don't wanna use the litter box and want to potty on my blankets/clothing. It just started happening about two or three days ago. Its like when i leave a blanket(or clothing) kind of bunched up on the ground or on my bed they potty(only #1) on it like its the litter box, but other days when the blankets are bunched up they decided they want to use the litter box. I'm not sure if its a territorial thing or whats going on? Because i haven't changed the litter on them or anything and they're still eating the same kind of food. Please help
I actually do have two litter boxes but they're both located in the same place(in the bathroom) could it be that if i moved one to a different location that it might help? And i clean it every day and put new litter in it every two weeks sometimes every three weeks depending how much they use each litter box.
You could try adding another box with a different filler in it, like newspaper. A newspaper box is really easy to keep clean, too.
Also, (and I know this is going to sound smart-alecky) you might just have to keep the towels and blankets up off the floor. The cat I grew up with would do just what yours are doing, but only with towels. Other than that, he was the perfect litterbox user. We found that if there were no towels in the floor, there was no peeing problem.

because cats can be territorial if one wees the others will follow. use non bio washing powder to wash anywhere they wet that isnt the litter tray, this removes smells that biological doesnt as biological leaves a'sent'like cat,and the cat will wee again in the same area.try orange smelling room and linen spray on bed spreads as cats hate the smell of acidic fruits. fingers crossed.
Are your kitties fixed.....females and males will mark their territory. Get them fixed and have them checked for a uti I would also add two more litter pans. I have read that you are supposed to have a ltter pan for each plus one. I don't do that myself but we have at least 4.
