Earlier in the year I had my wood floors refinished. Since that time, I've noticed some spots that have developed on the floor that have eaten through the top polyurethane layer. I think I've traced this back to the occasional drooling of my Karelian Bear Dog. He doesn't drool much, but sometimes when he is anxious, he will. Has anyone had this experience with their dog and wood floor before? Anyone know what would cause a dog's saliva to be unusually corrosive?

I too have wooden floors,(Banboo to be exact) and I also notice drool drips now & again. I simply take a damp cloth & rub the area & then buff dry. There should be no reason for the saliva to leave any permanent marks though.
