im so with you! The only way i would ever dress Tito up is with a tux at my wedding! HAHA!! and i really dont think i would really do that. Im not into the whoe dog dressing thing. AND when the heck did they get panties?!? wicked odd!
oh I take back not ever dressing Tito up. He wears his Boston Red Sox jersy for the games. lol
My dogs only wear coats when it's cold. Mostly if we are traveling to a humid area, and they are not use to the dampness and get chilled. Tried the snow boots for X-C skiing, and they fell off. And my girls will wear panties if they are in heat.
But I do love to dress my friends Lakeland Terrier girl. And she just loves to wear her clothes. She has a lovely string of pearls that makes her feel so pretty. LOL
He's your friend, your partner, your defender your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours faithful and true to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to worthy of such devotion
Oh wow, maternity wear? lol, wow. I lovvveee the dollar spot. :) They have the cutest little outfit ever there right now that I've been trying to get. When ever it's cold outside I put a dollar spot outfit on my beagle because she gets so cold - pure texan, ha ha. She comes running to me when she sees one. XD This is the one I want this year: (It's actually $2.50 - they put it in the dollar spot though to trick you into buying it. =P) http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k32/doglover42/DSCI2525.jpg
We don't go that far though. I'm not against clothes but if they don't want to wear something they shouldn't have to wear it and if it's 100 degrees outside they DON'T need extra heat on top of the fur coat..
A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself. - Josh Billings
I sense a slipperly slope -- You know it's just a matter of time before dogs start being influenced by peer pressure, just like kids. They'll refuse to wear hand-me-downs. They'll start demanding designer labels. Maybe they'll even START SMOKING.
I just can't see dressing my pups!!! I think whatever i put on them would be disenegrated(sp) within a matter of minutes!!!! And plus the pups that i see wearing the clothes and stuff they look either sad or pissed off!!!!

I think anything can be overdone. Back a few weeks ago when you mentioned me putting dresses on my yorkie, like I said, most of the dresses are harness which yorkies have trachea problems and is best not to use a collar on them..My schnauzers are double coated but if its really cold, yes they have jackets and coats. I do not put dresses on them. Yorkies are not doubled coated, they get cold very easy. Mine have little coats, sweaters, and little tee shirts. All the other things you mentioned, I agree, is going a bit far. To each his own, say. We treat ours like they are our kids since we have no children at home. I have often said, if you don't like them, then stay home. lol!!!
I do not dress up my dogs, but if other people want to dress theirs, it does not bother me. What DOES bother me is when i see dogs chained up in back yards, emancipated dogs, flea infested dogs. abused dogs, etc, etc. Somehow , when you see dogs in deplorable conditions or severely neglected, wether or not they are wearing a dress, just seems so trivial.........
If you are a dog and your owner suggests that you wear a sweater, suggest that he wear a tail.
Pebbles hates putting clothes on, but I'll make her wear sweaters when it's really cold outside. I have to admit I entertained the idea of my dressing my little girl up...that was BEFORE she came home and told me in more ways than one that she can't get with it. I'll try again with my next one, lol. And yes, I know they're just dogs, but if everyone is happy, healthy, and loved, I don't have any issues with it.
Oh how my Daisy Girl loved her little dresses. We would go for long walks, and in the summer months, it would shield her pink skin from the sun. She even had a little straw hat. I sure do miss dressing her up. She looked so sweet, walking around in the latest fashions. She enjoyed it very much.
All my girls wear little dresses. My boys wear harness vests.
I'm with Dusty on this one. I had two to one rather see an animal spoiled, dressed up or what ever, than to see the abused, hungry and neglected animals. It seems abuse and horrible things being done to animals is on the rise too and how horrible that people can do such things. No wonder we see so many abused children if people can be so low to abuse babies and children no wonder they don't hesitate at how they treat animals. We are living in a sick society.
