okay so I'm working on opening up my own all-natural pet store (not selling pets don't worry)and I was developing a pizza treat and I was wondering if anyone had heard about tomoatoes being bad for dogs. From what I've read it's only the unripened ones but I always value you guys' opinions!
My dogs love tomatoes, tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, sliced tomatoes, anything to do with tomatoes.
I had a Chocolate Lab who was crazy over tomatoes, If we left the garden gate open, it was a free for all. Cocoa would be in there stripping the tomatoes off the vines. She'd eat green or red, didn't matter to her.
When I would clean a batch of tomatoes, for cooking or fresh eating, I always made sure to save the cuttings for Cocoa. Nothing in this world that she loved better, unless it was swimming. :)
I doubt they are toxic to dogs, mine would have been dead long ago if they were.
Riley is the dog version of Garfield. He LOVES lasagna... and add to that pizza, spaghetti (with sauce of course), baked ziti, eggplant parm, whatever. As long as its got tomato sauce he will eat it. If you end up making a pizza treat and will consider selling online, let me know.
