Ok. My poor baby is getting old. He has trouble getting up from laying down and then limps at first. The cold weather really makes it worst. And he is a bit over wieght thanks to my neighbors, and I know the extra weight dont help the arthritis.
I've seen medication for doggy arthritis advertised on television and in print media, but can't for the life of me remember the name. I can see the ad, it shows a Retriever leaping into the water off of a dock. Anyone else remember that ad?
I've also heard that you should use the coated aspirin, such as baby aspirin for dogs, it is easier on their stomaches.
Sorry to hear that your dog is having problems. Hope you find the right medication to ease his pain.
I am going horribly spell this wrong, so bare with me. try glucosamine. It is holistic, you can either use a treat (hip action is great), or a pill glycoflex is a wonderful. Try a google or yahoo search. It takes about 4 weeks for it fully kick in, but works great. We recived my father in laws dog, a 16yr old shar-pei/lab mix. he had horrible hips. I give him 2 hip action treats, one in the morning and one at night. He plays like young pup again. try it, it won't hurt anything,
