I have a three year yorkie mix and she was never scray like this. Everytime it rains she shakes and goes underneath the bed, and she will not come out. In the mornings when I'm leaving for work she gets scared also and will not eat her food and she starts putting her tail down and goes under the bed. She just started all of this about three months now. I dont know what to do she is a very scary dog now she has gotten weired on me. I dont know what it is does anyone know what I can do, and Does anyone have the problems. She also has a bad seperation anxiety also.
My Sage is 6 now ( she is a shepherd/lab mix). When she turned 3 she also started having anxiety during thunder storms as well as the sound of fireworks. I do not know why it took 3 years for her to show signs of stress, but she did. There is a product called ULTRA CALM. It is a small bisquit with a liver taste that Drs Foster & Smith sell. If you are unaware of them, google the name to their website. They have alot of good products for your dog. Anyway, the Ultra Calm contains "valerian" which calms them down during stressfull times such as the one you describe. The jar will let you know how many treats will be safe for your dogs weight. Good luck.
