I have read these posts about people who went out and got pets for Christmas and now don't want them. It puts me in mind of my silly household.
My daughter had a baby and didn't want her cat anymore. She came here to live.
Then my daughter's husband got a really nice job in Seattle and they didn't want to take their dogs. I tried to place them in rescue and one was placed and the other no one wanted. I was fostering her anyway, so I kept her.
A very foolish man in Kansas City bought a Standard Poodle puppy and then nine months later decided that the dog was "too big for my apartment." I got the dog from rescue from after my old poodle died. THIS dog I wanted.
I am about to go to bed covered in animal hair from pets that no one else wanted...
THANK GOD. Now my precious angels are with me and I wouldn't give them up for anything.
See, you thought it wouldn't be a happy ending, didn't you?
You are very generous for taking in so many pets. A lot of people would say absolutely not, and send them on their way. I wouldn't be able to turn away animals that are in need of a home, I just can't do it.
I wish people would realize that animals are living things. Just tossing them out when they're no longer wanted is the most shallow, cruelest thing anyone could ever do. The last thing I heard on the news that was devastating (just after X-Mas) was a box of kittens were thrown out in the trash. It was freezing, and some woman found them and nursed them back to health. Bless that woman!
At least you're surrounded by nothing but love (and lots of hair lol). Good things will be coming your way.
Ask a question and you're a fool for three minutes; do not ask a question and you're a fool for the rest of your life.
I think that is great. I love to take in unwanted pets, and I have been able to place them into loving homes usually. I fell in love with the mini poodle, so she is here to stay. I work in a grooming shop, and a couple of weeks ago we had someone dump 2cats and 2 kittens in our driveway. We didn't even know until a client picking up his dog said something. One of our employees took a kitten, and Luckily I was able to find a barn who wanted mousers. I am allergic to cats, and cant keep them. Its great to know they have a wonderful home with a warm barn, and food(if they dont want mice). Really nice family. It is great to help.
