My mom has bad allergies for animals with fur and feathers . Anyway next august sooner or later were thinking of getting a dog here are our options Pug, Yorkshire Terrier, or Conton De Tulear. My mom has bad allergies to fur and dandruff/ dander . So what medicines will help or take away the allergies? Thanks.
If you are allergic to fur and feathers, you will be allergic to dogs. It doesn't matter which breed you choose, the dog will still shed hair and will still shed skin cells (dander) and will bring in plant allergens from outside on its fur.
As the other poster said, this needs to be discussed with your Mom's allergist. If the doctor says "no" then don't plead for a dog--that's mean to your Mom.
If you can't have a dog in your home, why not volunteer at your local animal shelter? Or go to a friend's house and play with their dog? There are lots of ways to enjoy dogs without having one in your home.
And it may seem forever now, but you will grow up and get a job and a place of your own where you can have a dog. You might just have to wait.
Those breeds because my mom likes them and she dosent really like poodles and the yorkie and conton de tulear are suposed to be one of the best types of breeds for allergies. And my mom isn't allergic to any plants and not hair like yorkies. My mom really wants to get a pug in the late summer or early fall. She'll do almost anything to help her allergies.
