my seven-year-old female cat has just started having diarrhea two nights ago, and it's still going on. This morning, she vomited on the floor. We noticed a mysterious white spot (it looks like paint) on her ear, just don't know what she could've gotten into. Shehas no other symtoms - she has an appitite and an attitude. Help? JerryLewis
You're supposed to take away food and water for 24 hours to let their digestive tract settle down. But I would search the house high an low for something she may have gotten into. Does she go outside? Could she have killed and eaten any critters? As long as she's acting normal otherwise. But I would call the vet if it persists. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cls=1&cat=1314&articleid=264
Thanks for the reply, but I think we've found out what happened. She'd been getting on our counter recently, and I think the white spot and diarrhea make sense together. She must've gotten into the oven cleaner... Anyhow, thanks!
Glad to hear yours worked out ok. Now my 9 month old girl has the same problem. Puked in several places and she's a persian so the diarrhea was an ugly affair that involves a bottom bath because of her long hair. Trying to follow my own advice but there's nothing she could have gotten into. I have 3 kitties so it's also hard to take away the food and water. But she doesn't seem too interested in eating anyway. But I decided to work at home today to keep an eye on her and I'll call the vet if she doesn't start acting normal. My boss has gotten some of the strangest calls from me since I got these cats. I hope she wasn't eating her breakfast when she listened to my message today. LOL
