While my husband is deployed, I would like to spend more time teaching Charlie some tricks. He can sit, dance, and fetch now (well, kinda he brings it back but wants us to "fight" to get it.) Oh and we just taught him "UP". He will jump up in our laps or run up the step to the bed when we say up. He is really smart puppy so I want to try more tricks with him. Any suggestion on a good book?
BTW, Charlie is part Maltese and part Yorkie, he is 9 months old.
Mommy to Thelma and Louise (dogs), Larry, Sam, Rescue (cats), Logan (RIP) (hamster) and Charlie (dog).
But the best "how to" book on dog trainin I have ever read is Terri Arnolds Stepping up to success. It's expensive but worth it. It will tell you how to keep your dogs additude up, how to get the dog to love training, and how to get that military like, snappy, perfect every time OB. without beating the crap out of the dog.
I believe a dog's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment he holds dear, is when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle-with a ball in his mouth."
