Please consider having your dog spayed. Don't mix 2 breeds unnessasarily. There are already enough mixes and purebreds without homes that are the results of careless breeding. Don't add to the problem.
are you planning to breed her with a DOBERMAN pinscher or a MINIATURE pinscher ? i'm sure regardless, the puppies will be cute, what puppy isn't ? however if you were thinking doberman pinscher, i doubt that a mini daschund could deliver a litter of big pups on her own which would mean she would need a c-section. which costs big bucks and not to mention that it requires anesthesia which in itself poses a risk of death. are you ready and willing to have your little doxie die as a result of you breeding her ? hopefully that won't happen, but it is a possibility and how awful would you feel if it happened. especially since you are doing something that isn't really necessary for your dog to live a happy life ?
Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.
my female dachshund and a min. pin. i think that they would be so cute. me and my husband have been looking for a min pincher. we found one we are going to look at this afternoon. he is black and tan. 5 weeks old. and if we can get him today that would be great.
5 weeks old? Noooooooooooo, that puppy is way too young to seperate from the mother and siblings. Wait until he is 8 to 10 weeks old and has time to mature a little with his family.
I would NEVER buy from a breeder that would even consider selling a puppy at 5 weeks of age, let alone a toy size puppy. BIG RED ALERT, there is something wrong there, do yourself a favor and don't get involved in that situation.
I am going to start breeding Rottweilers and Poodles. I think I shall call them RottenPoos and sell them for a LOT of money!
Ludicrous isn't it? Your idea isn't much better. No one is trying to be mean to you, just to make the point. I completely understand where you are coming from, having naively bred mixed-breeds intentionally myself some time back. My eyes were opened, and these people are trying to open yours. Go to petfinder.com, click on rescue dogs, and spend the next day and a half scrolling through the thousands of dogs, mixed breed and purebred that have been dumped off. Every puppy put into this world, whether purebred or mixed, is an adult that will most likely be euthanized. Seems to me that people ought to have a very good reason for bringing more dogs into the world. The world does not need more dogs, it needs LESS. There are also a myriad of other reasons relating to the health and safety of your dog and puppies that are reason alone not to breed them. Just love your pooch for being a great pooch. That is her job.
And if you are breeding (NOT MIXED BREED PUPPIES) they have to both be at least 2 years old. Have all their health tests done, and should be activly involved in their registry. Meaning going to shows, competitions. Etc. All their health clearances, OFA, CERF, etc for their particular breed. This has to be done by someone certified.
Have you done any research on whelping puppies? Do you have all the supplies ready for that? Do you have buyers lined up, and a list of backups incase those back out?
Do you know what you are getting yourself into?
DO NOT BREED THIS MIX. If you are seriously thinking of breeding, you need to do your research, find a mentor, and some excellant foundation stock to start with. Breeding does not go on a whim, just like buying that puppy, it is something that has to be researched and carefully planned.
I would suggest spaying/neutering these two and enjoying them as pets, do your research and explore the resources available to you, find a mentor, find the breed that you would be really interested in breeding, research them, show them, get involved with the local breed club.
Or I just wasted all my typing skills on some little trollie wanting to rile us all up, or someone who is not going to listen to me anyways. Sigh.
I have Pit Bulls and a Rottweiler, we can either breed the Rottweiler with the Pits and get Pitweilers OR the Pit Bull with the Poodle and make us some Pitpoos. Give me your contact info so we can start our "program"!
