Hi Luckygal....I am a breeder of Dogue de Bordeauxs. Please don't breed your doxie with a min pin. They are cute, but just think about this...do you know how many mixed breed and purebred puppies die everyday in shelters because there aren't enough homes for them? Millions of dogs, cats, and kittens every year are euthanized...do you want one of your girls pups to be euthanized because someones life has changed and they can't take their dog with them. If people thought of this, maybe they wouldn't breed. As for your doxie, breed her with another doxie if and only if she is breeding quality, and has papers... Real papers like AKC or something of that sort. Do not unnecessarily breed your doxie. If you are going to breed, I would wait until she is 2. But be prepared, with a doxie, you are more than likely going to have a c-section. Is it worth having your girl uncomfortable and cut open, for mutts? If everyone would stop breeding their "designer breeds", and start responsible breeding...only breeding to better the breed and not for the money...because believe you me...you have to love it to do it. Most "want to be breeders" give up after the first one or two litters because there is a ton of work required....cleaning up poop, and puppies getting covered in poop, and having to bottle feed if you lose your doxie in labor because she needed a c-section and you couldn't afford it...etc..etc. Really think long and hard...don't do it because you think they would be "cute"...again, visit your local animal shelter before you do this. When I was a kid, people got "mutt" puppies for free...there was no such thing as designer breeds....a mutt is a mutt is a mutt...no 2 ways about it. Really, seriously, think long and hard. Spay your girl...it would make her live a longer...happier life...think about how happy you would be if you never got your monthly friend....it would be a god send. Think long and hard about what your girl will go thru...and she will more than likely have to have a c-section...600 or more for a c-section...and if you are able to get at least 300 for a mutt...and you get only 2 pups...you just lost a ton of money in shots and care for those 8 weeks or more that you will have them.
