I hurt her by accident and I feel like a bad Mom. My Bailey had some poo stuck in her hair from diarrhea and I couldn't wash it all off. So I tried to cut some of the hair and I sliced into the skin on the bottom of her tail. I called in sick to work today and called the vet the minute they opened. She had to have anesthesia and stitches because of the close proximity to her butt and the bacteria risk. Right now she's still recovering from the drugs and she will be fine. I have to give her antibiotics and wipe her butt with a special pad if she uses the litterbox. But I feel so awful. She even forgave me and is asking to sit in my lap but I can't forgive myself.
I've got two words for u: let it go! My old cat died in April (Opie waz his name, which is why i call myself Opie911!) and i blamed myself FOREVER! But my best friend, whose dog had died two years before Opie died, told me that it wasn't my fault and that he's up in Heaven with her puppy-dog. If your cat forgave you, there is no need to worry at all. Just keep on loving that cat and everything should be fine! Remember, LET IT GO!
Thanks Opie911. That's actually 3 words. LOL I know things are going to happen to the kitties but they just shouldn't happen because I was stupid. Bailey is doing much better now that the drugs wore off. Chasing her sisters and the jingly ball. Her biggest issue is that she really hates the butt wipes. But I have to keep the stitches clean so she has to deal with it. But my baby still loves me. So it's all over until I get the $450 bill on my credit card. Expensive lesson learned. No scissors near my girls, EVER!
