"just because her Dad is famous doesn't mean she was going to be."
Not only is she more famous than her dad EVER was, she has probably already earned 10 times more money than he has!
And I think she's a much better role model than Britney Spears or Lindsey Lohan or Paris Hilton or any number of young girls out there today. So what if she wants to change her name to honor her dad? Do you realize how many stars, both men AND women, have changed their names? So what?
The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.
Yes I agree she is a much better one then them but not far from it. And change her name to honor her dad? No she changed her name because she didn't like Destiny and changed it when she changed her music path by singing for Miley and not Hannah. And really this post isnt about if she changed her name or not it was just mentioned.
2nd. Sorry if I offend you, but this statement by you, Sweetiemommy "I ment she came from nowhere as in she came from a regular old house in a regular old place just like you and me" is utterly ridiculous. I don't believe it's possible for any child of a star as big as Billy Ray Cyrus could possibly experience a 'regular old house in a regular old place just like you and me'. She's been around celebrities her entire life, her father is a celebrity and I'm pretty sure she didn't grow up in a 3 bedroom 1 bath ranch house like I did when I was a kid.
3rd. If I had the name Destiny Cyrus, I'd probably change it as well, as the name Destiny makes me cringe reading it. Miley is a unique name that isn't nearly as pretentious as 'Destiny'. And she did get her start acting at the age of 9, playing a child on her father's tv show.

Hannah Montana is the Devil.....Lucifers Spawn.....
Dude this place is like the Salem witch trials. When you compare Hannah to lets say someone like Adolf Hitler. She is really not all that bad. David Koresh...That dude was a fuit loop. Jeffery Dahmer, The uni Bomber, The Terrorists of 9-11. These are the folks I am looking out for!!! Hannah Montana is harmless.

Hey Minniyar! Me too! I grew up in a three bedroom 1 bathroom ranch. Phew!! I got scared for a minute and though everybody else's Dad was a millionaire country singer/actor and I just missed the boat or something. Man I can't wait until the writers strike is over or Spring gets here and I can find something better to do with my time besides debate about the background of Hannah Montana.
Sadly, Billy Ray Cyrus is a one-hit wonder. He was famous for oh, about 10 minutes, in the country music world (of which I'm a member). I'd be willing to bet he isn't a millionaire, and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if he's living in a house pretty much exactly like mine (which is definitely NOT a mansion).
I really hope that Billy Ray isn't using his daughter to get himself back into the limelight or to get ahold of her earnings to line his own pockets. I always thought he seemed like a nice guy, but what do I know.
Mylie seems like a regular teenaged girl to me. No better, no worse. The posted pics weren't nasty to me, just teenagerish, and what I expected.
Actually Billy Ray Cyrus has only had 1 number one hit single on the country charts, but he's had 7 top 10 country singles and 13 top 40 singles. He raised his family on a 500 acre farm outside of Nashville TN until the success of Hannah Montana required them to move to Los Angeles for filming, and he's won several awards for his philanthropy. I'm not sure what his annual income is, but if he spent and saved his money wisely, he's probably a still a millionaire.
I sure wish I'd grown up on a 500 acre farm instead of in a ranch home on an acre of land :P

I guess they just don't play him in Minnesota then. If he's ever here for concerts, he's at a casino, never a big venue. Once Achy-Breaky Heart faded away (finally), so did he, at least for us country fans here in MN. I can't even think of another popular song that he sang...
Actually that was not the only thing he did he also had a show not that long back I believe it was called Doc on a christian channel. He put 9 albums total, 1 of which was a christian album. He has also been on several shows (as a guest) been in 2 movies and as I said had a show.
I guess I will have to expose the lame country fan that I am. 'Some Gave All' is the patriotic song. Minniyar got it right so she's in danger of joining me on the lame train. And gbroxon, maybe you heard the songs but since they were not as completely crazy and overplayed as Achy Brakey you just didn't know it was him. Especially since he lost the mullet. Heart of a Woman, Busy Man, Could've Been Me and his current song out is Ready, Set Don't Go. We're hearing them in CT so they must be playing them all over the US.
I guess I'm a little late but I don't remember anything about her legally changing her name, but, I remember looking her up (probably on wikipedia?) a lonng time ago and reading that yes, her birth name was "Destiny Hope Cyrus" (I think it's kind of pretty actually =]) and when she was little her Dad called her "Smiley" (because she smiled all of the time I think?) which was shortened to "Miley". I believe that was from a lonnng time ago so I don't think the Hannah Montana thing had any influence on it and, like I said, I never heard of her legally changing her name (not saying that's not true, I just have no knowledge of that). It never really intended to me that she changed her name because she didn't like it either.? I don't know, that was just my thought I suppose.

I enjoyed Billy Ray Cyrus on the show Doc. It was filmed in Canada and was a good family show. He was here at our casino a few years back and was so down to earth. I've got some great pictures of him from his photographer, she follows him to his shows around the country.
I had a country music radio show for 14 years and have met hundreds of stars and seen them in concert and I have to say he was one of the nicest.
