My 5 year old, male cat(Boots)has "Displaced anger" (he's taking his anger out on his sister) because there are (wild?) outdoor male cats taunting him from outside...
We will go buy super soakers today and mix in White Vinegar and spray down everything outside down (as suggested, thank u!) to detour the other cats, then we will spray them when they come close to our house. I hope this works...
The outdoor cats do not have any collars or any tags, none of them! We don't know where they belong? We see them roaming outside all day and night. My daughter said that the elderly woman across the street dumps food out on her porch, but she does not know if the cat's belong to her or not? We'll go over and talk to her. They may be wild??? You should see what it did to our screen, it's shredded! The more agressive outdoor cat tried to fight Boots through the screen on our living room window last night and when Boots couldn't get to him he attacked his sister [Princess]). I'm afraid to open my doors and windows at all now.
We just moved here (a few WEEKS ago). Our cats have their shots and we are in the process of getting their new tags (Plus, our cats are both fixed). Not to mention, they never go outside! We came from the city in Cali. and now we are in the country in Oregon, a whole new ball of wax. I hate to think that we may have problems with a neighbor right off the bat like this, it's awful!
Q: Can I buy big jugs of white vinegar at Costco and spray everything outside our house 100% concentrated? or is that overboard? Or do we need to dilute it with water? Isn't it going to be offensive to us? our neighbors? our guests? Or will it break down so it's only offensive to the animals?
I can't have my male cat (Boots) spraying EVERYTHING he sees every 5 seconds (no exaggeration)inside our home. He does it right in front of me too (I think he is mad that we moved here to top it off, I feel like he's acting out). How do I get him to feel better so he stops?
I LOVE this cat!!! He's like my rebellious, testosterone driven, crazy teenager son... I love him, but I've gott'a do something to help him. It's unhealthy for all of us. Not to mention that it smells and he's SO high strung and stressed right now.
Q: How do I get him to stop spraying and relax??? Herbs, sprays, med's... like a relaxer my vet could get or we can order on-line??? What do I do? I'm already spraying Natures Miracle and using Bleach wipes to disinfect. I yell NO! But none of this is working, not even a little bit :o( and yes... I'm loving, petting, stroking... he's in no way neglected... spoiled even.
Has anyone been through this? Do you have suggestions? What worked for you???
Firs.t.. dont' make a new topic that addresses the exact same subject as another post you've made. Instead, repost to the first one. There's no point in either you or anyone else repeating themselves.
Second, the vinegar would just evaporate into the air, so buying jugs would do no good. The super soaker is the best idea I think.
Regarding your cat spraying.. Honestly I'm not sure you can stop him. If he's that stressed over the cats outside, he's going to keep doing it as long as he feels that they are invading his home territory.
Never trust a tall dwarf... he's lying about something.
