i just moved out of my parents house two weeks ago into a house in manchester with my boyfriend, it has a nice fenced in back yard and he loves it. but now hes alone from 7-4 i cant really trust him out by him self because he trys to ruin the coaches and he pee's on things.. yea hes not that bright lol but hes going to classes. right now i bought him a crate that is really big for him because hes a little guy and he has room to stretch his legs he has his water toys a blanket and a puppy pad. i also keep on animal planet or a radio. i guess what im asking is that enough. im sure hed have more fun at a day care with other animals. but i think id worry to much about another dog eating him or him still being left alone and me waisting money?.. does anyone bring there dog to a day care and think it works better?
it really depends on your dog. If he likes to be around other dogs, and isn't to wild. It he is wild and bothers the other dogs, then he would probably have time out. You have to research all the doggie daycare places. I know Best Friends is a national chain, and I have personally seen the good things they do. I dont know if you have one in the area. Good luck
My friend's puppy has separation anxiety and she takes her to Daycare once a week just to give her a break from being alone all day. On those days Molly comes home exhausted from the fun. All of the people at the daycare love her and she's very good with them. When she's locked up at home, she has torn through the drywall in the bathroom and is pretty much stressed out all day long. She tried a crate and the poor thing thrashed around so bad so now she has to just gate her in the bathroom. But even just once a week is a nice break for Molly and her Mom. It can get a little pricey to do every day. PS. Your post is really funny because you never actually mention your dog so it almost sounds like your boyfriend is wrecking the couch and peeing on things. LOL
I had this same problem. I have a 18month old American bull dog and I was feeling bad about crating her while I was at work. I tried to leave her out and It was a night mare. Not to the point of potting in the house but pulling up tiles and scratching the carpet. She kind of let me know that the crate is where she would like to stay. The next morning before work I walk her like normal and when we came in the house she immediatly went to her crate. I quess she didn't want me that upset anymore. (It was pretty bad the one time I left her out) So since that day she goes in her crate and she's fine till one of us gets home. I argue about this all the time with my brother (he has Maltese and shisu he thinks I am wrong for crating her). I figure she doesn't sleep in the crate shes not crated when me or my wife are home so she doesn't mind. I did get her the largest crate that I could find so she is very comfortable. (no food in crate). Doggy day care for me is a little bit far stretched unless you have like that$$$ then knock your self out.
i found a neighbor that is in middle school that cant have his own dog because his dad is allergic, so hes going to come over once a day to bring him out and play with him. for as long as he wants. i had no idea how expensive it was for a day care until i really looked into it. thank you guys very much.
