I just answered a post with this, and thought I would share my remedy with every one who does not read it in the other thread... Ever noticed your dog is losing a lot of weight/won't eat as much as they did before? My doberman pinscher was neutered about 2 months ago, and he lost a lot of blood due to a bleeding disorder. He needed a blood transfusion, pills, you name it. When we took him to the emergency vet in the middle of the night for excessive bleeding, they asked if he was always that skinny. Since before surgery, you cannot feed your pet after dinnertime the night before, some times they lose their appetite after the surgery (they're drowsy, sore, do not want to eat). Well, Diesel lost about 25 lbs. in a couple weeks, would not eat much at all... ribs were showing, etc. The vet told us to feed him Kraft Dinner. Any one else had this experience? I know it sounds funny... but he was happy and healthy again in no time. Make a whole box (pasta, milk, cheese, butter, and all) for your pooch ... feed it to them once per day, plus a bowl of dry food for breakfast and lunch for about 2 weeks. He gained his weight back in no time! If you don't want to give your dog Kraft Dinner, give them plain pasta... although, I wouldn't keep feeding them this for long, they might stop eating normal food... I mixed the kraft dinner with some dry food. Any one else have any remedies for dogs who are losing weight/not eating?
