i have read on here that giving your puppy/dog one teaspoon of pumpkin from a can mixed in with their food can help them with gas. any truth to this? if so how often to give it to them? i feed my kids 3-4 times a day, so with each meal or just one meal a day?
I've never heard that about pumpkin either. It is good for upset stomachs and runny poop, not heard the anti gas thing. What kind of dogs do you have and what do you feed? I've heard that canned food and treats increase the amount of gas a dog has, and some breeds like bulldogs and boston terriers are particularly 'gassy' breeds. But I've also heard putting a drop or two of 'beano' on their food can cut it back.
i DO have two boston terriers so double trouble, double love and double smelly farts, lol. maybe i mis unerstood it then, but i thought it was for gas. maybe it was then for upset tummies and runny poops. thanks just the same..
I've heard it it good for both constipation and runny poops. I saw on E vet on animal planet, the vet prescribed pumkin(plain) for a constipated bunny. The gas may just be from the food you give your dogs. You may want to give them a different brand. I know when I get gas it sometimes hurts, so think the same for you dogs. Just make sure to looks for preservative and food coloring free foods. Go for the best and you will have less problems with your dogs. What kibble do you feed your dogs?
i feed them purina pro plan and it is suppose to help with sensitive tummies for pups. they have had gas since we got them two months ago... i give them baby gas relief and that helps us all! but i can't afford to give that to them every day three times a day so i need a once a day dosing of something for them and our noses.. they have been on this same food now for about a month or so..
